This is YOUR   Boys State
Minnesota American Legion Boys State is a week-long hands-on learning experience about the process of city, county, and state government within Minnesota. In a week of intensive study and involvement, the delegates will organize into the various levels and branches of mock government and learn by holding leadership positions across all levels of the program. They will also have the opportunity to participate in athletics, music, newspaper, and more.
Minnesota Boys State is a program for young men who have completed their junior year of high school. Highlights of the week include: political speakers, campaigning, lobbying, elections, and mock trials. The week culminates with the State General Election for the Boys State Governor and State Constitutional Officers.
Our STAFF
The Director and Operating Staff, administrative staff, counseling staff, and athletic supervisors who are in charge of the individual phases of the program are trained leaders and experienced youth counselors who donate a week of their time as public service.
Many of our staff are past Boys Staters who give this year's delegates the same excitement, inspiration and value the Boys State program gave them when they were delegates. Our volunteers work hard each year to provide the delegates of Minnesota Boys State the best experience possible.
